Ministry amid political polarization—how to help your congregation manage in 2024

This workshop is designed to provide practical tools and strategies to help your congregation and community find connections and move beyond polarization.

This 90-minute workshop will offer the opportunity to learn about resources for clergy and lay leaders as well as to provide practical tools for navigating conversations about politics.   It is often thought that conversations about politics should not happen in the context of church. However, being able to have discussions about what is important in the work of communities and government can lead to greater connection and the ability to ask the questions:

  • How does my faith impact my political thinking?
  • How does government impact my faith?
  • How can I be a part of a faith community where we might not all agree about politics?
  • Is it OK to talk about politics with other people of faith?
  • Is it OK to talk about politics at church?
