Throughout the month of December, in this space, we will be looking back at 2024 and pivoting toward 2025. This will allow us to remember and be grateful for the year that has passed and to anticipate and plan for the year to come.  We want you to be a part of this looking back and looking forward with us.  You are invited to respond to this feedback form and we hope that you will share the link with others, your input will help us to better serve you as we move into 2025.

This week, we focus on our trainings and workshops.  In 2024, we began the year knowing that we wanted to re-focus on The Center for Congregational Health’s traditional trainings of The Art of Church Consulting, Intentional Interim Ministry Training, and Coach Training (through our partnership with Pinnacle Leadership Associates), and we would add a training for Transition Consultants.  In addition to trainings, we continued to lead workshops at various denominational events and with congregations and we added the offering of six workshops hosted by The Center for Congregational Health. Trainings and workshops that we offer grow out of our mission to help congregations and clergy thrive.

Following are a brief description of each training and the workshop titles:

The Art of Church Consulting:  A 4-day classroom training to develop consultants to work with faith communities in the areas of conflict management, visioning and strategic initiatives, leadership development, group development, and congregational health.

Intentional Interim Ministry Training: A 5-day virtual course that focuses on the work of the interim minister as he/she leads a congregation through the time of transition, as well as on the work of the congregation during this journey.

Transition Consultant Training: A 4-day classroom training to provide participants with concrete tools to use with congregations, an awareness of how to navigate conflict that may arise, and a framework for how to walk alongside a congregation in transition. This framework helps a congregation to clarify its mission, strategize for the future, and navigate the details of the search process.

Coach Training: International Coaching Federation Credentialed training to equip coaches to facilitate a process for others to grow into the persons they are called to be. Summit Coach Training offers 108 hours of coach training and is a Level 1 training program.  In addition, SCT offers mentor coaching, coaching supervision, introductory workshops and peer learning opportunities.

Workshops:

  • De-instituting the Institution
  • Getting to know your why—using the Enneagram to better under self and others
  • Recognizing how Stress and Anxiety show up in self and others
  • Ministry amid Political Polarization
  • Renewing Community—building connections through times of division
  • Managing Conflict and navigating difficult conversations
  • Compassionate Communities: Paths out of Isolation, Fear and Scarcity
  • What Matters Most, Tools for Self-Care that radiate outward

In 2025 we will continue to offer The Art of Church Consulting and Transition Consultant Trainings.  We will offer Intentional Interim Ministry Training on request and we will offer Coach Training through our partnership with Pinnacle Leadership Associates. We will continue to facilitate workshops for various gatherings and events and for local congregations and faith communities.  If there is a workshop or training that piques your interest we hope that you will reach out to us so that we can partner with you in the coming year.
