Webinar: Creating a Coaching Culture in the Church

We believe that the application of coaching principles can change the culture of a church. Such a change does not happen overnight, but if the leadership and the people become committed, the results can be transformative in every area of church life. Coaching in church can impact staff development, disciple development, leadership training, team formation, and Christian education.  This webinar introduces the best practices for creating a coaching culture in a church.

Your presenter, Ircel Harrison, is an itinerant educator. He spends his time encouraging and equipping leaders through his work with the Central Baptist Theological Seminary and Pinnacle Leadership Associates. He is an ACC certified coach with the International Coaching Federation, and co-author of DISCIPLE DEVELOPMENT COACHING.

This Webinar is provided in Partnership with Pinnacle Leadership Associates.  It is scheduled for 11:00 AM (EDST) on August 18.

    Cost: $25/person

The conventional approach to problem-solving in business or church is to discover the root cause of a problem and to fix it. Appreciative Inquiry takes a radically different approach: Discover the root of cause of success and improve it. Problems are acknowledged in the process, but why spend so much energy on what’s not working when you can be spending creative and innovative energy on what is working?

The Center for Congregational Health is partnering with The Clergy Leadership Institute and Larry Glover-Wetherington, Coach and Intentional Interim Pastor, to offer a weekly webinar on the Introduction to Appreciative Inquiry.  The first of these webinars is scheduled for Friday, September 30, 2016.  We will continue the series for the following nine weeks, each Friday (except for 11/25, Thanksgiving week) through December 9, 2016.  The webinars are scheduled for 8:00-9:00 AM EDT.

To create a better world we don't need better people,

we just need to help people discover and be their best.

The Center for Congregational Health is partnering with The Clergy Leadership Institute and Larry Glover-Wetherington, Coach and Intentional Interim Pastor, to offer a webinar on Mutual Ministry Valuation, an alternative approach to ministry evaluation.

Just because annual performance reviews don't achieve their objective, we don't have to give up on the pursuit of excellence.  By using an appreciative inquiry model of continuous improvement to create cultures of excellence, we can:

    • Celebrate achievement.
    • Learn from mistakes and failure.
    • Create cultures of creativity, acceptance and excellence.

The first webinar in this series is scheduled for Thursday, October 6, 2016 (8:00-9:00 AM EDT).  Subsequent sessions are scheduled for the following four Thursdays at the same time, concluding with the last webinar in the series on November 3, 2016.

Faith communities are looking for assistance in meeting the increasingly complex challenges of mission, ministry and congregational life.  The programmatic, cookie-cutter answers once offered by denominations and traditional consultants are now often inadequate to meet these challenges. The need is growing for consultants who can provide more personalized, context-specific help to faith communities.

To meet this growing need for qualified consultants, the Center for Congregational Health, in partnership with the Interim Ministry Network, is offering a process to train and develop consultants to work with faith communities.

The dates for the Residential Lab portion of this training  are October 10-14, 2016.  The application deadline is September 16, 2016.  The lab will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday (10/10/16) and conclude Friday (10/14/16) before noon. This portion of the training will be held on the campus of the Baptist Children’s Home in Thomasville, North Carolina.  Specific dates and times for the fieldwork telephone conferences will be scheduled during the Residential Lab.

    Costs:

    • Standard tuition: $1665 (includes single housing, meals, breaks); $1435 (for commuters)
    • AIIM and IMN members: $1565 (includes single housing, meals, breaks); $1335 (for commuters)
    • CBF-related clergy and laity: $1565 (includes single housing, meals, breaks); $1335 (for commuters)

Please Note:  A quality learning experience is dependent upon a minimum number of active participants.  The minimum number of learners required for the residential lab experience is 10 participants. We reserve the right to cancel any training event that does not reach this minimum number of participants.  Please take this into consideration when making travel arrangements.
